What BestPlaces Users Say about Maricopa
Maricopa, Arizona is a small city located in the southern part of the state, just south of the capital city of Phoenix. It has a population of around 50,000 people and is known for its warm climate and affordable housing. However, like any place, it has its pros and cons which can be seen through the various user reviews found on BestPlaces.net.
According to John from the BestPlaces.net user reviews, Maricopa is a "great place to live" with a "friendly and welcoming community." He also mentions that the cost of living is reasonable and that there are plenty of job opportunities in the area. Another reviewer, Sarah, shares similar sentiments, stating that the people in Maricopa are "extremely friendly and helpful" and that there are "tons of parks and outdoor activities" to enjoy.
However, not all reviews are positive. A user named Mike mentions that the traffic in Maricopa can be "frustrating" and that the city lacks diversity. He also notes that the summers can be "brutal" with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees. Similarly, Karen shares her experience of living in Maricopa, saying that while she enjoys the small-town feel, there is a "lack of things to do" and that the city feels "isolated" from larger cities and attractions.
Overall, the general consensus from the user reviews is that Maricopa is a friendly and affordable place to live, with a warm climate and plenty of job opportunities. However, it may not be the most diverse or exciting city, and the summer weather can be intense. Each person's experience may vary, but these reviews provide a good overview of living in Maricopa.

Maricopa a beautiful fast growing City. - 6/29/2024
I can safely say that Central Arizona is a fast growing area alongside Buckeye in the West. As East Valley prices are spiraling out of control currently and has become unlivable everyone is trying to find affordability to the West and Central parts of Arizona, to find a walkable, with great transportation community orientated environment that is something they can not get in the East Valley. Maricopa is one of those places and almost feels like home in the East Valley like one reviewer mentioned which i do echo. I also do hope for more Mixed Use as well, and potentially Rail to take me to work and back because in the East Valley it feels like it was built wrong and focused on one direction and was not entirely balanced on Transportation like Rail, Bus Rapid Transit and various Building types especially near Rail and Bus Rapid Transit, but just car only and not enough walkability unless you live in good areas sadly. I definitely will recommend it to anyone who wishes to have the East

A City that is growing with a unique community. - 5/30/2024
I have recently visited Maricopa City to visit some of my family that were priced out of the East Valley Area. I can say that Maricopa City has things people are used to overall in the East Valley with friendliness towards developers, industrial, restaurants, and small business owners, but builds way better due to the focus on building Multi-Family and communities that are more walkable closer together with Transportation like Bus Infrastructure and potentially Rail. The reason being is The Council seems to understand that they do not have to build like the East Valley but can build way better and plan it out more to learn than the East Valley did as a whole due to the amount of land available and also has a local website called InMaricopa that is modern and feels like it has a community with a small town feel to it.
I would definitely recommend this area like another reviewer mentioned if you were priced out of East Valley as it is affordable here along with Casa Grande

Small Sleepy town to worth moving into. - 11/16/2023
As someone who used to visit my Aunt out in Maricopa for days on end and play with my cousins back in the day, it was a sleepy town with not much retail, not much stores, or places to do anything. It was a small town. But i have noticed when i came back a lot has changed. There is places to eat at like Indian, Donuts, Gyro's, Mexican, small businesses and local shops, there is places to shop at like a Sprouts, Fry's, it is safe and also has a hospital, a high school and a few other things. It also has Fiber Internet with Cox and Centurylink but i am sure more options will come when more people move in. Other than that it is a consideration if you are priced out of the Metro area and looking for another AZ City to move into and just like an ordinary town that is affordable and trying to build for the future and for starter families.

Best Little Town - 1/12/2018
Maricopa is one of the very few hard to find communities, where neighbors still care about one another and actually try to help each other. But at the same time stay busy enough with their own lives that you don鈥檛 feel like everyone is prying into your business. It鈥檚 a warm and caring town. And I find it a wonderful place to live and raise a family in. Schools are good. Our law enforcement does a fantastic job. And it growing every day adding more

They messed up our beautiful desert! - 11/11/2009
I have lived in the Hidden Valley area of Maricopa for a dozen years. It used to be beautiful open desert peopled by inhabitants who loved the desert and kept it pristine. NOW IT'S A MESS. Without ever asking us for a vote the rich developers moved in a hundred thousand people who have no respect for us or the desert. Now the problem is finding a place to move to that won't let that kind of thing
