What BestPlaces Users Say about Richlands
As a small town located in the southeastern region of North Carolina, Richlands offers its residents a quiet and rural lifestyle. With a population of just over 1,500 people, the town is known for its tight-knit community and family-friendly atmosphere. However, there are some mixed opinions among residents about living in Richlands. Some praise its charm and simplicity, while others critique its lack of amenities and job opportunities. Let's take a closer look at what users have to say about living in Richlands.
According to John S., "Richlands is a great place to raise a family. The schools are excellent and the community is very supportive. It's a safe and peaceful town, perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life." Similarly, Emily R. shares, "I've lived in Richlands my whole life and I love it. It's a small town where everyone knows each other and there's a strong sense of community. There are also plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, like fishing and hiking."
On the other hand, some users have expressed their concerns about living in Richlands. As Linda M. puts it, "There's not much to do in Richlands. You have to drive at least 30 minutes to find decent shopping and entertainment options. It's also hard to find good job opportunities here." Another user, Matt B., echoes this sentiment by saying, "Richlands is a quiet and peaceful town, but it can also feel isolated and boring. The lack of amenities and job opportunities is a major drawback for me."
Despite the mixed reviews, one thing that most users agree on is the affordability of living in Richlands. As Sarah K. states, "The cost of living in Richlands is very reasonable compared to other places I've lived in. It's a great place for families and retirees on a fixed income. You can get a lot more for your money here." Overall, the general consensus among users is that Richlands is a charming and safe town, but it may not be the most exciting place for those looking for a more fast-paced lifestyle.

Can鈥檛 beat RICHLANDS!! - 3/30/2019
I鈥檝e lived in RICHLANDS for 3 1/2 years now and have fallen in love with this little town! I could live anywhere in the US and chose RICHLANDS because of everything it has to offer!
Close to Jacksonville, so you have short drive access to all the restaurants and stores, but don鈥檛 have to live there.
Close to the beaches and fishing and you can hunt in RICHLANDS if you desire.
Community is amazing to raise kids - schools are really good too!
Plus it has RICHLANDS UPC - the Church that was built in ONE DAY on Huffmantown Road - an amazing place to worship God

Richlands gives you quiet country living, but allows you to still be just a stone's throw from Jacksonville. Living here is very affordable we live in a subdivision in a 3 bdrm 2 bath house built in 2009 with a large fenced in backyard for only$780 a month, which is very affordable on our low too moderate income, husband is a disabled veteran. The area is primarily military retired and active with camp lejuene being close, but my husband likes that, our street has mostly Marines. We see very little crime, drug activity, gangs, etc. The weather is pretty moderate, the humidity doesn't bother us very much, it rains a good amount so no fear of drought, it doesn't get that cold to us. Utilities are pretty reasonable except for cable. We can shop on base for cheaper groceries otherwise stores are not that far. We have lived in other states including Arizona and SC. and have found this area to have more pros than cons except for the VA, my husband hates it, but I don't think many areas

In the past our kids felt their schools were not free from possibly becoming a victim of criime but here they feel safe and for the most part trust the faculties and fellow students in all
