Wouldn't recommend it - 2/15/2017
Pros- Beautiful scenery. Lots of recreational activities to do on the Chain.
Cons- Very high property taxes. People r struggling badly to sell their homes. The court system is a mess. Lots of criminals can walk out with no jail time. The income is very low compared to the cost of living. School system is below average.
Recommendation- This is a nice little tourist town, but that's it. The Foundry is one of the higher paying jobs, and a lot of those employees live in nearby towns like Manawa for reasons stated above.

Great community but the taxes are too high - 9/19/2008
Waupaca is a lovely town. The people are friendly and caring. The scenery is gorgeous with many lakes and rivers to explore. The down side is the property taxes are high. But the school system is excellent and our roads are well maintained. So you do get a good bang for your buck in that respect. Cost of living is lower than many places. If you don't mind the cold winters and lots of snow, it is a nice place to raise a family. People have their hearts in the right place
