Costly Housing - 2/19/2008
Housing can cost quite a bit in this area. Townhomes will often sell for a price that could easily get a single-family home with garage elsewhere. Some people believe this is because restrictions on sprawl make developable land more valuable, but I think it is already quite valuable because of our proximity to Annapolis, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. All three are within a short commute via very accessible roads. The housing is also more dense and concentrated for a suburban area, with smaller lots and more townhomes and condominiums than other locales.
