We're finally staying put. - 10/9/2019
After living in Yakima since 2012 my husband and I have decided this is the best place we've ever found ourselves, and we've lived in ten different states. That said, I'd want to be in a bigger, more bustling city if I were right out of college. We're about to retire and we're really glad we're HERE for that. I've never sung "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" so often in my life.

My biggest complaint would be the fog that settles in most all of January. I live on a hill and it's all I see from my window for at least a month. We were also affected by the 2018 fires in California and our own forests that brought so much smoke, we had to keep windows and doors closed most of the summer due to air quality. They even kept the kids in from recess at school. I can't speak to the crime as I live in a somewhat rural neighborhood, and my kids were grown when I got here so I don't have any experience with the school system.
