Silently the Fastest Growing City in Arizona - 6/29/2024
I have visited Buckeye and it is amazing how it has transformed over the last 5 years along with other parts of the parts of the West and Central Arizona becoming fast growing areas that is no longer the East Valley. In fact currently, Buckeye in the West Valley is in the top 15 fastest growing Cities in America alongside Maricopa City in Central. This is in part because Buckeye is very community friendly, including Business and Development, affordable living that is one of the lowest in the entire country for apartments and housing, also importantly walkable, with smart and sustainable planning for urban environments than just the Car. It is not locked to the past and is learning from mistakes in other spots in the valley and across the U.S. This is definitely a place to look into if you wish to be apart of a city that is new rather than one that is set in it's ways or is going to take a long time to see the results of. As most of the East Valley has to redevelop but Buckeye has tons

I have lived here three years. I live just north of the I-10 in the Sierra Highland neighborhood, just down the street from the Skyline Regional Park. There are pros and cons to living here.
At times, the smell of manure and possibly the smell from the chicken/egg plants nearer to Tonopah can be quite off putting if you are not used to that. Additionally, we have a problem with quite a lot of flies at times.
Last year I was stung by a scorpion in my house. That was not fun. We have become more diligent in trying to keep them away.
Since our home backs to the desert, although we have a brick wall that separates us-- we do have rattlesnakes (three of my neighbors had rattlesnakes in their backyards---the firemen came and took them. We also have rattlesnakes that breed in the bushes at our park which also backs to the desert.)
We have hawks, owls, eagles, coyotes and mountain lions. Two years ago, a mountain lion jumped the neighbor's

The fast growing city in the US. - 12/25/2021
Amazing place to live! You get the feel of freedom again. Lots of amazing restaurants to eat at near by. Tons of awesome sport bars near by too. Growth is rapid and you can see this new modern smart home city slowly becoming a force within the Phoenix area. You get a mix of what you want, city, rural, farm, and lots of get away place to see. Since the move our life has gotten more peaceful and the slower pace of life is so enjoyable. Summers are hot, but a pool, air conditioning and local lakes help with that. Winter weather is perfect. This city is a Diamond. Don鈥檛 take too long to get here. Prices will only keep going up.

Horrible, Horrible people!!! - 2/5/2016
My family and I moved to Buckeye from Yuma in early 2011. At first I loved it here. It's actually a nice clean city. But then more and more people started moving here. Now we are so over run with people that no matter where you go there is an insane and unrealistic amount of people. And to make matters worst about 95% are rude as hell. Half of them don't speak English. The city is so underdeveloped its pathetic. My husband has been putting in for a job transfer almost any where. We are being driven out of our city by all those rude, mean people that are EVERYWHERE!! It's sad and unfair, we bought a beautiful house, have our kids established in their schools but we're so unhappy with herds of assholes we can't stand it any longer.

Small town friends - 2/20/2011
I have had a completely wonderful experience. I bought a home in Buckeye, and have yet been able to move in due to other issues, but my neighbors call me long distance regarding my home, chase away intruders, and generally keep a close watch on my home. I used local people to fix the locks and air conditioning and they were all extremely friendly. I used a local insurance agent to insure my home and was very pleased with his and his receptionist' friendliness and courtesy. I am looking forward to moving in next month. I am a very friendly, up front, person, so I have rarely had problems making friends and Buckeye seems no different to other small towns. Remember, it is sometimes harder to break into small town social scenes because people have been around a long time, and are sometimes skeptical of new people who may be gone too quickly. A good way to feel welcomed in a small town is to attend worship services and to get involved in charitable projects that help you really know

What good is Diversity if not shared among each ot - 12/1/2010
When I spoke of people not being friendly, I did say some.
As far as a car and AC those aren't my issues at all,so my kitchen nor my cars are not hot. LOL....
I agree the people who work at Ace hardware have good customer service skills, but that still does not explain why most people in Buckeye seem so unfriendly to new people. I have spoken to other people from out of state and the observations and experiences about not feeling so welcome here seem to be the same.
Yes you are right, this is the desert folks,
but even in the desert one can have good manners!
I am sorry Norm, that my Experience living here in Buckeye is not so good and yes I am moving out.
P.S. the winters here in Buckeye are great, at least you can enjoy playing your sports and the outdoors
