Years ago Lemon Grove was a small, rural community with older residents and a very small town feel. The homes have become run down and due to lower housing prices the town has changed from a family community to many group homes and druggies. The area offers large lot sizes compared to the average in San Diego County and is somewhat centrally located for East County. It only takes 15 minutes to get to Downtown San Diego.
