Quiet and peaceful - 8/3/2017
The Grand Valley is a beautiful area! Palisade is a nice quiet community that sits about 5 miles east of Grand Junction off I70 and is part of this valley. It is a small quaint town and is predominately an agricultural area.
As the previous reviewer states it is true about the outdoor activities, fresh produce, etc. We come here frequently to visit. However this town is covered in smoke off and on from spring season agricultural burning. This takes place in the entire Grand Valley starting March 1st and ending the end of April. This is just the open spring burning season. Fall burning season starts September 1 and ends September 30th. My family and I have personally experienced this and it is not something we want to experience again! The smoke was so bad that it was difficult to see across some streets due to the haze. Great place to live - 8/12/2008
Palisade is a great place to live and bring up our children! Mild winters, 30 min. from ski mtn, 5 min. from swimming, nature trails, bike trails, FRESH peaches, winneries, what more could you ask for? Schools are great with only about 20 students per teacher, sports are a big event here. Small enough to really enjoy the small town environment yet close enough to a "bigger" city to enjoy the fruits of that if you want. Just what the doctor ordered for ones health and well being! Palisade is land locked so no more growth and that's a good thing, it will never be a "big" city and thats the way we want
