MEAN AND RUDE??? - 8/1/2012
RUDE AND MEAN?????? August 1,2012
Geee, we have been considering a move to Ocala (or Belleview or Dunnellon). Talk about rude or just plain Northerners with attitude, try living where I live in Ft. Lauderdale,Florida.!!! Driving in any area in S. Florida all the way up to Palm beach is hideous. The birdie flip is the S. Florida salute while driving.
We have come up to Central Florida looking for a house in Ocala,Belleview or Dunnellon and have found everyone to be extremely polite. We were shocked at the difference in people's attitudes in Ocala as opposed to where we live.We have lived in a small(but nice) neighborhood down here for 15 years and if you are NOT from up North you just don't fit in and barely anyone will talk to you. Ohh yess, they will wave at you when you go to your mailbox. So now I hear the same thing is happening up there??? We were up there about two weeks ago and didn't seem to find anyone who was either rude or mean. Of course we don't live

Ocala/Belleview not the place for families - 3/14/2012
I HATE IT HERE!!! If your not retiring I really dont recommend this crap hole to people raising a family. To many New Yorkers who are RUDE and MEAN! There is no work, I been unemployed for over a yr now with no hope for a job. The people who like it are the retired New Yorkers, we get no say on what goes on all the retired New Yorkers run the whole govenment. There is nothing to do but golf, boat, and hike but the old people golf, way to expensive to boat and way uncomfortable to hike. Forget outdoors activities to hot, to many bugs or to cold. I wouldnt buy a house here, sinkholes because all the water is drying up, bugs infest every house, and ants in the summer get crazy!! I have nothing good or nice to say about this area and dont recommend anyone moving here especially if you want theatre, attractions, the beach, or anything fun because its just not here. Better off movin to Daytona Beach, Tampa or Naples. Also if you want the help from the police forget about it they are just no
