Great Place to Live - 6/21/2007
We found this area through "黑料社区". When we visited the area we fell in love with it and bought a home. Only about 2 hrs from either NYC or Philly. But, with one of the lowest crime rates in the nation. In fact, we couldn't find a lower crime rate anywhere. Plus, a low cost of living and much lower R.E. taxes than NY (we paid $12,000/yr in NY and now only $4,000/yr with a bigger & better home). We have an above avg educational system where 91% of HS grads go on to college. We have many wonderful outdoor and indoor recreational activities for our 3 children. We have hills, mountains, lakes, great shopping, and a growing job market. Many professionals live here as we have many "affordable" affluent areas. We have several universities nearby including the University of Scranton only 20 minutes away. Great hospitals nearby (we know from needing them several times)&(uncrowded emergency rooms).
