Many people have chosen to make this city their home, and below are snippets from four different user reviews about their experiences living in Columbia.

The people here are friendly and welcoming, the cost of living is reasonable, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. It's the perfect balance between small town charm and modern amenities."
2. From SarahG84: "Columbia may not have all the big city conveniences, but it has something that is often hard to find - a real sense of community. The local events, festivals, and small businesses make this place truly unique. I'm proud to call it my home."
3. From JackS87: "As someone who moved here for work, I was a bit hesitant at first. But I have to say, Columbia has exceeded my expectations. The schools are great, there's a low crime rate, and the cost of living is affordable. Plus, the proximity to Nashville is a major bonus."
4. From EmilyW90: "Overall, I have had a positive experience living in Columbia. However, there are some downsides like the lack of public transportation and limited job opportunities. But if you don't mind a slower pace of life, this is a great place to settle down and raise a family."

The jobs in Columbia, Tennessee are scarce in comparison to cities. It has been that way since the '90's. In the 90's General Electric and other major companies left the area. Recently nearby Saturn has announced a major layoff leaving many GM employees unemployed.
Real estate prices are affordable. However, if you purchase a home and later decide to sell it you will have a hard time. Many homes have been on the market for about a year or more. Many residents in the area just can't afford to purchase a home.
