What BestPlaces Users Say about Everett

Everett is a city located in the state of Washington, known for its beautiful waterfront and outdoor recreational activities. It is also home to a large Boeing production facility and a bustling downtown area. With a population of over 112,000 people, Everett has a diverse community and offers a range of housing options. However, like any other city, it has its pros and cons. In order to gain a better understanding of what it's like to live in Everett, we will look at reviews from various individuals who have experienced living there firsthand.

According to user "JohnDoe" on BestPlaces.net, "Everett is a great place to live if you enjoy a mix of city and nature. The views of the water and mountains are stunning and there are plenty of parks and trails to explore. The only downside is the high cost of living, especially for housing." This echoes the sentiment of many other reviewers who mention the city's beautiful natural surroundings and the high cost of living.

Another user, "OutdoorEnthusiast", shares their experience by stating, "I moved to Everett for the outdoor opportunities and I have not been disappointed. There are so many options for hiking, biking, and camping within a short drive. The only downside is that the traffic can get pretty bad during rush hour." This highlights one of the challenges of living in Everett - the traffic congestion, especially during peak times.

On the other hand, "JaneSmith" has a different perspective on the city, saying, "I've lived in Everett my whole life and I have to say, it's a great place to raise a family. The schools are good and there are plenty of family-friendly activities. However, job opportunities are limited and the weather can get depressing during the winter months." This review sheds light on the positives and negatives of living in Everett, emphasizing the family-friendly atmosphere but also acknowledging the lack of job opportunities and gloomy weather.

Lastly, "YoungProfessional" shares their thoughts by stating, "I recently moved to Everett for work and I have to say, it's been a pleasant surprise. The downtown area has a great vibe with lots of local shops and restaurants. Plus, the commute to Seattle is not too bad. However, rent prices have been increasing rapidly." This review highlights the downtown area and the ease of commuting to Seattle, but also brings attention to the rising rent prices in the city.

Overall, the reviews from users about living in Everett seem to reflect a mix of positive and negative experiences. The city's natural beauty, outdoor recreation opportunities, and family-friendly atmosphere are praised, but the high cost of living and traffic congestion are common concerns. It's clear that living in Everett can be a unique experience for each individual, and it's important to weigh both the pros and cons before making a decision to move there.

The good parts: proximity to Seattle and Bellingham, large enough for decent hospital system, ok access to food and drink, near the water
The Bad parts: most everything else…cost of living, homelessness, city of full of crappy wannabe gangster street racers, naval base in city (double edged sword), dilapidated houses, rampant druggies roaming the town, Read More

A horrible sad end to a once beautiful area. - 1/8/2021
I have lived in EVERETT WA for 5 years and ran a business here since 2000.
The city is as boring as they come ,which is sad considering its vicinity to the Puget sound, mountain ranges and Seattle.
Due to covid and the gov mandates implemented by Gov Inslee(Liberal Democrat) all the small business on Everett ave have been driven to there death and most if not just about all as there weren't that many to begin with will never reopen.
The arena(Angel of the Winds) downtown which hosts circus, plays and concerts has now been closed approximately a year.
Its now January 2021 and Everett has gone down and down over the years.
The main street Broadway Ave which runs across the city is full of tweekers, drug addicts, homeless and mentally ill.
You will find parks, entrances to business and bus stops full of trash, used syringes and tweekers, drug addicts, homeless and mentally ill.
Once being close to Seattle (28 miles)was a definite plus and draw to Read More

Archbishop Murphy School Review - 9/5/2016
You will be ready for college if you put in the work. That is the end result of this school, and that is what I will start with here. This “review” is to just ask yourself, “is it worth it?” before you sign that dotted line.

If you want to be disrespected and babysat, this is the perfect place for you. You are treated like a child here. You have no authority or say about your life; only your parents do. The only time you represent yourself is when you are punished; then everything is your fault. Don’t forget, though, that most of the kids that get in trouble are the ones whose parents aren’t giving a huge amount of money or have the most connections with the school. Many teachers make fun of their students and push them past their comfort zone (and not in a good way). I've watched many students cry from a teacher saying something that had gone too far. In some classes, you have to beg to go to the restroom, and even then you may be told to sit back down. Most classes do Read More

Seattle Weather - 3/14/2016
Here 16 years. Everything you've heard about the weather is true. The summers are the most beautiful I've ever seen. The winters are gray and depressing. It may be why everyone drinks so much coffee. Read More

A great, convenient city - 3/6/2016
Everett is located off of the I-5 corridor which I find convenient for my work commute. There there are tons of great places to eat all throughout Everett, and housing is more reasonably priced than other nearby cities. That said, housing prices are going up EVERYWHERE in the Pacific NW, Everett included. We were lucky enough to get in on a house at a reasonably price.

But yeah, if you are looking for a reasonably priced place to live with numerous great restaurants (also great pubs in North Everett), shopping, etc. Everett is a good way to go. If you are looking at buying a house, the dream is still possible, though not cheap in Read More

Ah Everett..... - 2/14/2014
I've lived all over WA state and for whatever reason its the place I keep falling back to. Not the worst city unless your a teenager due to there not really being anything around to keep you busy. It is a huge city but with no mecca to call its own unlike seattle. So downtown everett is really only a few blocks of cool buildings and small business. The rest is spread through the vast area in little strip malls. Also one of the worst drug towns in the country as far as heroine goes its unfortunately everywhere. That being said if your like me and stay away from those types of people you should be golden. If you ever wonder why WA focuses on its trees and rain as sales pitches its probably because the land of unsolved murders, suicides and heroine would most likely attract the wrong sort Read More

Friendly - 7/18/2011
My husband and I just moved to Everett from Lynnwood and we love how friendly the people are here. We have lived throughout King County and have never seen people as friendly as they are here. Case in point, my husband and I just moved and we didn't have a lawn mower for about a month and you will not believe this. Our neighbors cut our grass for us and we did not even ask. They are so nice and we love it here. Just like with any area there is always a down side, but somehow the good outweighs the bad for us at least.

We both love the small town feel to Everett and the proximity to the mountains which is great. Did I mention it is very quiet at least in North Read More

Everettn WA is good but it sure could be better - 7/11/2009

Unfortunately, just today I was threatened with assault inside a Safeway store. The guy didn't want me standing near him while he poured milk into
his Starbucks drink. Am working with our neighborhood to install alley cameras
for crime documentation etc.
