Kelso, Washington is a small city located in Cowlitz County with a population of around 12,000. It is known for its affordable cost of living and easy access to outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and skiing. However, it is also known for its high crime rates and limited job opportunities. To gain a better understanding of what it is like to live in Kelso, let's take a look at the experiences of some individuals who have lived there.

According to a user review from John D., "Kelso is a great place to live if you're looking for a peaceful and quiet community. The cost of living is low, and the natural beauty of the area is unbeatable." This positive sentiment is echoed by another user, Mary L. who states, "Kelso is a hidden gem in Washington. The people are friendly, and there are so many outdoor activities to enjoy." These reviews highlight the affordable cost of living and the natural beauty of Kelso.

However, not all reviews are positive. In fact, some users express concerns about the high crime rates in Kelso. As Jenny R. puts it, "I moved to Kelso a few years ago, and I have had my car broken into twice. It's not the safest place to live, and I always have to be cautious." Another user, David S., shares a similar sentiment, stating, "I would caution anyone thinking of moving to Kelso. The crime rates are high, and it doesn't feel like a safe place to raise a family." These reviews highlight the downside of living in Kelso and the need to be vigilant in terms of safety.

In addition to the cost of living and safety concerns, employment opportunities also seem to be limited in Kelso. As Jessica B. shares, "I relocated to Kelso for work, but I have struggled to find job opportunities in my field. It's a small town, so there aren't many options available." This review sheds light on the potential challenges of finding employment in Kelso.

Overall, the reviews about living in Kelso are mixed. While some appreciate the low cost of living and natural beauty of the area, others have concerns about safety and job opportunities. It is important for individuals to carefully consider these factors before deciding to move to Kelso.

Kelso is a quieter town, with a lot to offer if you have the money. If you do NOT have money, the town is NOT good and you really need to think twice before trying to move here. They do not have much housing for low income people, they do not offer a lot in the way of lower blue collar jobs. This in turn has caused some homeless issues inside the city of Longview/Kelso. Lots is being done to combat it and thwart it, but... Really, just don't come here if you can't afford to be here. There are limited resources for struggling folks. Hate to sound snobby, but it is just honesty. The area is a huge pitfall poor people fall into in this area.

For the rest of us, Kelso offers some really nice homes with views for great prices in a historic area with lots of beauty. Its a great spot nestled in between two smaller rivers (Cowlitz, and Coweeman) and of course the grande Columbia River. For people who Read More
