I have lived in Bear Delaware for about 15 years and absolutely love it! Lums Pond State Park Area/Bear/Newark/Glasgow are wonderful. You have everything you could possible need or want to do within a short distance while keeping up the rural landscape. You have the luxury of a a few hot spots and yet not overly done with shopping centers. Route 1 and 95 are convenient. All within about ten minutes, you can traverse to charming Chesapeake City, MD, Newark University of Delaware Main street, The North Summit Marina and Middletown Main Street. Christiana Mall is about ten mins. too. The Wilmington Riverfront is a hop skip and jump, with lots of restaurants and activities. It feels centrally located to it all. Can't beat it! Beautiful well-maintained neighborhoods adjoin from one community to the next. Raising children within the community with other kids was a breeze.
