Paradise found (At least right now :-) )

The reason I鈥檓 writing this review is because I was really surprised when I saw low scores on Brevard. We have had a place up in the mountains right outside of Brevard for 18+ years. About 2 1/2 years ago, my wife and I decided that we would quickly fix up our Mountainhome and sell it. In the process of fixing it up we fell in love with the area. It has been one of the best decisions that we have ever made. We enjoy just about everything about Brevard. It is centrally located, 45 minutes to Asheville, an hour to Greenville airport, and three hours and some change to Atlanta or Charlotte.
The small town character, breweries, independent film theater, restaurants, world class summer music productions, small college town, etc.
Yes it does rain (actually you are in a rain forest) but with the right gear and attitude life goes on. Just like in the Pacific Northwest, and also like the Pacific Northwest, the locals like it just the way it is. That鈥檚 also why it is so lush green and full of waterfalls. It is an outdoorsman鈥榮 paradise with unlimited hiking and world-class mountain biking. It is the most dog friendly place we鈥檝e ever been. We now have four Australian shepherds/dogs that are rescues and they absolutely love it here too.
Most folks don鈥檛 ask what you do but rather what kind of dog do you have :-)
Our biggest concern is paradise doesn鈥檛 last forever. We have seen it in so many areas in our biggest concern is that Brevard will change too much. Right now we feel it is the golden age so enjoy it while you can.
