de Zavala is a WONDERFUL middle school! The teachers and staff genuinely care about the students. AVID has a strong presence on campus, and the AP Spanish as well as the GT programs are outstanding. Parent volunteers are on campus on an almost daily basis, and community members are frequently visiting the campus to see what new and innovating things are happening! You will never find a more welcoming staff. To top that off, they are the only middle school in Irving to earn 5 distinctions. I don't think you will find a better middle school to send your kids to.
