I make a good amount of money and I'm still broke

I live in Jackson and I can tell you for sure it sucks. I'm currently a student in college so I don't bring in any income but my husband makes about 200,000 a year..... it's still not enough. Our rent is about 5000 dollars a month for a three bedroom two bathroom apartment that is very small. The grocery stores suck, one of them has terrible chicken, one of them has awful beef, and the other one is for health nuts. The roads are pretty good in the winter for how much snow we get but really the only enjoyable time to be here is April and November. Those two months are what we call "off season" and it's basically when the tourists leave. Construction here is almost impossible because of all the parks and permits. The town is very poorly designed and extremely overpopulated. Basically don't choose to live here unless you have enough money to slap the president without getting in trouble and if you enjoy never leaving your house.
