RI is Unfriendly

I lived in RI for 20 years and have moved to Massachusetts. Thankfully I left this state. Although Providence has some residents from elsewhere due to the colleges, the local yocals are so rude and unfriendly. If you do come try to live on Aquidneck Island. There is a great diversity of people who live in Newport, Middletown, and Portsmouth because of the influx of people from other states. Contrary to what the people off island think it is not a snobbish community. The unfriendly people live in Providence and surrounding areas. They are sooooo rude and unfriendly. If they don't know you forget it. When walking they don't say hi and they don't want to. There is almost no industry except for banks and insurance and the workers stay forever!!! They don't like change either so forget it if you bring some enthusiasm. They'll take you down. The women are catty and clicky too.

I totally agree with all of this. I am a visitor, full time traveler and I have never in my life met such RUDE, HATEFUL, and MISERABLE human beings! I keep hoping the handful of decent people I HAVE met will out-weigh the others, but so far that is a big NO. I'm here until end of Oct so I'll have to endure. Once I leave though, I have no intention of ever returning. It is a sad, sad situation because RI is a truly beautiful state. Too bad the people are NOT!
