Wow! What crawled up into Jenny's a$$? She must have lived in the worst part of Smyrna possible, because I've lived in Smyrna for 17 years and have never seen the place she describes! Oh, and Cumberland Mall is closer to my house than Lenox is to the Governor's Mansion, too close, frankly. And on bookstores, have you noticed that Barnes and Noble, the store you refer to, is the only real bookstore around these days? They are in a perfect spot, practically in Smyrna. It does not make economic sense to have another one in Market Village! I like my convenience to all the great shopping, dining, and entertainment, without the traffic and crime. As a realtor and CPA, whatever made you dream that your property value would go up by adding a swimming pool? We usually knock off a few grand for those! As far as not much going on in Smyrna, how about a Braves game. Betcha won't be able to do that in Buckhead any time soon. And that 10 minute drive to Vinings...gruesome (sarcasm). I kind of like the Atlanta Home Show and others at the Galleria, too. If you don't like the schools, take your kids out of government schools. I guarantee they're just as bad most other locations, i.e., school district is not what's wrong with the schools! Finally, last time I checked, I'm not even an "old, fixed income, empty nester"!
Have a nice life, Jenny, and please don't come back to Smyrna, or any place else I might be living in the future.
