What BestPlaces Users Say about Los Osos

Background Information:

Located in the central coast of California, the zip code 93402 is home to the small community of Los Osos. With a population of around 15,000, this quiet town offers a peaceful and close-knit atmosphere. It is known for its stunning views of Morro Bay and access to outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and kayaking. However, it also has a reputation for being one of the most expensive places to live in California. Now, let's take a look at what people have to say about living in this particular place.

Reviews:

- According to user "Samantha," who has lived in Los Osos for 3 years, the town has a strong sense of community and is a great place to raise a family. She says, "The people here are friendly and welcoming. Plus, you can't beat the views and access to outdoor activities. It's a perfect place for families who want a peaceful and safe environment for their kids."
- Another user, "John," who has been a resident of Los Osos for over 10 years, mentions the high cost of living in this area. He states, "The cost of living is definitely a downside. Housing prices are through the roof, and everything from groceries to gas is more expensive compared to other places in California. It's not an ideal place for those on a budget."
- However, user "Maria" disagrees with John's view and says that the high cost of living is worth it for the quality of life in Los Osos. She mentions, "Yes, it may be expensive, but the quality of life here is unbeatable. The air is clean, the views are breathtaking, and the community is very close-knit. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else."
- On the other hand, user "Josh" points out the lack of job opportunities in Los Osos. He shares, "It's a beautiful place to live, but it's not very job-friendly. Most people commute to other cities for work, and the local job market is limited. It can be challenging for young professionals to find job opportunities here."

Overall, the reviews about living in Los Osos are mixed. While many appreciate the community, views, and quality of life, others mention the high cost of living and limited job opportunities as downsides. It seems to be an ideal place for those looking for a quiet and scenic lifestyle, but may not be suitable for those seeking a bustling city with more job opportunities.

I've lived here on and off since 1987. Unfortunately, we are having a bit of a homeless issue of off Palisades avenue. But besides that, this is the quintessential bedroom community. Los Osos/Baywood Park is situated at the South end of the body of water known as Morro Bay. The world renowned National Park, "Montana de Oro," is at the West end of Los Osos, and provides a beautiful beach called Spooner's Cove, a glorious camp site, and miles of hiking, biking, and horse trails. Moreover, there is Sweet Springs Natural Preserve and the Elfin Forrest. This area is off the beaten track just a bit so you don't get the influx of tourist that jam Morro Bay and Pismo Beach during the holidays. We've had a sewer issue here for the last 30+ years so that has stopped nearly all new housing until, wait for it, 2021. The town's acreage is limited to no more than 17,000 people and we are already around 12,000. This is the hidden gem in the Central Coast and will be exorbitantly expensive perhaps in Read More
