Context:
Norwalk, California, specifically the 90650 zip code, is a diverse and bustling community located in Los Angeles County. It is known for its affordable housing options, diverse population, and proximity to major freeways and public transportation. With its close proximity to Los Angeles and Orange County, Norwalk is a popular location for commuters. However, like any place, it has its pros and cons. Let's take a look at what some users have to say about living in this particular place.
Reviews:
1. "I have been living in Norwalk for 10 years and I love it here. The community is very diverse and welcoming. The location is also very convenient, with easy access to both the 5 and 605 freeways. It's also a short drive to downtown LA and Orange County. The cost of living is affordable and there are plenty of job opportunities nearby." - Sarah J.
2. "I have lived in Norwalk for over 20 years and have seen it change a lot. It used to be a quiet and safe neighborhood, but in recent years there has been an increase in crime. I would advise caution, especially at night. The traffic can also be a nightmare during rush hour, so plan your commute accordingly." - Mike T.
3. "I recently moved to Norwalk and I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. I was worried about the reputation of the area, but I have found the people to be friendly and the community to be vibrant. The parks are well-maintained and there are plenty of great restaurants and shopping options nearby. Plus, the housing prices are reasonable compared to other areas in LA." - Emily R.
4. "I have lived in Norwalk my whole life and while it may not be the most glamorous place, it is home to me. The diversity here is what I love the most, you can find people from all walks of life and everyone is accepted. The schools are also improving and there are many community events throughout the year. However, the cost of living is rising and it can be difficult to find affordable housing." - Carlos M.

Parking and the city council - 1/8/2008
I live on Ferina street near Studebaker and I recommend that anyone looking for apartments in this area should consider the horrible parking conditions on this street. The city of Norwalk requires permits for parking on much of the south side of the street and only grants the permits to the residents who live in the houses. Each house on the block comes with a full driveway and two car garage while our apartment comes with only one parking spot. The south side of the street has plenty of available parking nearly all of the time, but we are unable to park there, creating very minimal parking for the rest of us. There are nights were I get home from work and have to walk by nearly 3 blocks of unoccupied parking (many time with groceries, in rain, ect.). It is completely unfair, the city tickets very aggressively and will not grant the same rights to apartment renters as they will to the selected few who live in the houses. Either the City of Norwalk simply does not care about the rights
