Small town feeling with lots of money from city development going into downtown and higher income areas. That's all the good I can report. Total neglect of other parts of the city. Very large homeless population. No support for lower income areas and very little lower income housing available. Corruption abounds in this good ol' boy governed city and county. Long-standing elected and appointed officials padding each others pockets. Either won't speak to you or hostile when approached. They are very protective of one another and get very little done. Failing and poorly maintained infrastructure in this town. EPA violations, Habitat for Humanity violations, massive stormwater problems. Two code enforcement officers in whole city, which it shows. Trashy yards, abandoned, non-running and illegally parked cars everywhere. Sure, go downtown for a meal and it appears fine. Don't base a move on that though. Very disappointed in the management of this place of so much potential.
