Many residents work in NYC and coming home to Ringwood takes you to another world. The landscape is absolutely beautiful and there is a sense of peace and tranquility upon arrival. There is also a strong sense of community where residents enjoy knowing and helping their neighbors. Because Ringwood is 100% in the preservation zone, ratables in Ringwood are extremely limited. In the past, people moved to Ringwood with the notion that they could buy more home for the money. And though this may still be true as housing costs do seem to decrease the further you live from NYC, this initial savings is now offset by the high cost of real estate taxes. The passage of the Highlands Bill has placed Ringwood as guardians of the water supply for surrounding area residents and has subsequently placed a great tax burden on Ringwood residents.
