Cedar County lies in the northeast corner of Nebraska near the Iowa border and has a population just over 8500 people . The county offers a mix of rural landscape along with small towns like Hartington which serves as Cedar鈥檚 county seat while providing local businesses such as mechanic shops & restaurants to its community . Agriculture is still a major industry throughout Cedar allowing locals to take advantage of it's good soil conditions while growing various types fruits like apples , pumpkins or even grapes .
