Mountain City, Nevada, population 32, is a small city located in Elko County. With its close proximity to the Ruby Mountains and Humboldt National Forest, Mountain City offers outdoor activities ranging from camping and hiking to fishing and horseback riding. The city has an interesting mix of local businesses ranging from antique stores to restaurants. Some of these include the Silver Dollar Saloon, Montana鈥檚 diner, McIntosh鈥檚 Grocery Store, and two antique stores. In addition to local businesses, Mountain City also has a number of organizations that provide services to residents such as the local 4-H chapter and volunteer fire department. For locals who enjoy sports activities there are several facilities available like the Horseshoe Bend Drive-in Golf Course and baseball diamonds. Every year in late August/early September Mountain City holds their annual Cowboy Days celebration with rodeo events for all ages. Locals gather together for the festival which includes live music, food vendors, arts and crafts booths and a classic car show.
