The schools in Wagner, SD are known for their excellent academic performance and have consistently earned high ratings from the state. The small town is home to three schools: Wagner Elementary School, Wagner Jr./Sr. High School, and St. Joseph鈥檚 Catholic School. All three schools strive to provide a supportive environment for their students by having exceptional teachers and staff as well as extracurricular opportunities. Wagner Elementary School provides an Early Childhood Development program for children ages 3-5 and offers core academic classes such as reading, math, science, social studies, music, art, physical education, and health classes in its elementary school curriculum. Wagner Jr./Sr. High School is a public school that has a full selection of academic courses including advanced placement (AP) classes in addition to electives like drama club and student council. At St. Joseph鈥檚 Catholic School students receive religious instruction with a focus on Catholic teachings while also receiving rigorous academic instruction that prepares them for college and the world beyond graduation.
