Arkansas is a state located in the southern United States, bordering six other states and the Mississippi River. It has three distinct geographic regions: the Ozark Mountains in the northwest, the Ouachita Mountains in the middle, and the Delta region in the east. The state has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers, mild winters, and plenty of precipitation throughout the year. Arkansas is home to nearly 3 million people and its capital Little Rock has been an important center for civil rights activism. Agriculture, manufacturing, poultry production and tourism are all major industries that contribute to Arkansas' economy.
