Harnett County, North Carolina is a rural area with a small population. But despite its size, there are various public transportation options available in the county. The public transportation options include Harnett Area Rural Transit (HART), a shuttle service providing rides to and from destinations across the county for eligible riders. It also includes bus services from Raleigh and Fayetteville that connect to many of the towns in Harnett County such as Erwin, Lillington, Dunn, Coats, Buies Creek, and Angier. Additionally, Amtrak rail service connects the county seat of Lillington to cities such as Charlotte and Asheville via stops at Selma and Fayetteville. For those who wish to travel on their own terms, there are taxi services available along with ridesharing companies like Uber and Lyft.
