St. John, KS is a small town with a population of around 2,800 people. Although it is considered to be a rural area, it has strong ties to the local politics in the area. The city is served by an elected mayor and a five-member board of commissioners. They work together to make decisions about local issues such as taxes, public safety, infrastructure, and economic development. Every two years there are elections for these positions which allow the citizens of St. John to choose who will guide their community over the next few years. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
