Inlet, NY is a small town in the Adirondack Mountains, with a population of only 477 people. It has a strong sense of community and well-established local politics. The Town Board is composed of five members, all of whom are elected by local residents to serve staggered four-year terms. These members oversee decisions related to the budget, local ordinances and tax collection. In addition, Inlet has a Mayor who is elected every two years and serves as the head of the Town Board. All political candidates must be registered voters in Inlet in order to run for office. Elections occur on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November each year, providing an opportunity for citizens to have their voices heard and participate in the political process.
