Wallowa, Oregon is a small rural town located in the northeast corner of the state. It is home to a diverse population of around 1,200 people and offers a peaceful atmosphere with breathtaking views of the Wallowa Mountains. As far as politics go, Wallowa is part of the 5th congressional district and is represented in Congress by Republican Representative Greg Walden. On a more local level, there are several elected positions such as mayor, city council members and county commissioner that are responsible for making decisions for the town. The current mayor is Joe Dabulskis and he has been in office since 2018. He is an ardent supporter of small business growth and works hard to create an environment in which businesses can thrive. The city council is made up of seven representatives who work together on issues such as land use regulations, water rights, budgeting and public safety. The current county commissioner is Mark Brouillet who was appointed in 2020 after being elected in 2016. All of these representatives work together to make sure Wallowa remains a safe and prosperous place to live, work and play.
