The town of Winnemucca, NV, located in Humboldt County, is a small community with a population of 7,835 as of the 2019 census. It is the county seat and its economy relies on tourism, agriculture, retail trade and freight transportation. Winnemucca is governed by a mayor and four city council members. The current mayor is Chris Hegg who was voted into office in 2018. The current City Council consists of Debra Lee-Kramer, Bob Johnson, Pete Cupp and Ray Estes. All five are working together to ensure that Winnemucca remains a safe environment to live in while also striving to create jobs and economic development for its citizens.
