Federal Way, WA 98003 is a city located in King County, Washington and is home to roughly 97,000 people. Federal Way has an active political environment with many candidates vying for city council positions and mayor. The current mayor of Federal Way is Jim Ferrell who was re-elected in 2019 after serving his first term from 2011-2015. The city council consists of seven members: Martin Moore, Susan Honda, Dini Duclos, Jesse Johnson, Hoang Tran, Mark Koppang and Pauly Klein. Each of the members serves four year terms and are elected at large by the citizens of Federal Way. They work together to create policy initiatives and manage the budgeting process for the City of Federal Way. Additionally, there are regular meetings between the Mayor and City Council to discuss important issues facing the city such as public safety or economic development.
